I do hope that by the support of all Papuans, Nowela will emerge the winner of the Indonesian Idol."
Jayapura, Papua (ANTARA News) - Papuas local government will support a Papuan girl, Nowela Mikhelia Elizabeth Auparay, who has been chosen as one of the finalists of the Indonesian Idols grand finale.

"We will provide free prepaid vouchers to the public, so that they can send as many short texts as they want in order to support Nowela to win the idol competition," stated Papuan Governor Lukas Enembe in here on Monday.

Enembe, who hosted Nowela at the governors office in Jayapura, remarked that the support from the Papuans was very important to make Nowela win the American franchises Idol competition in Indonesia, which is determined by the number of short texts received in favor of a participant.

"I do hope that by the support of all Papuans, Nowela will emerge the winner of the Indonesian Idol," he added.

Earlier, Enembe also handed over Nowela a Papuan governments placard as a mark of gratitude and support to her, as she has brought fame to Papua in the national competition and might also emerge as the winner.

During Nowelas visit to her hometown on Sunday (May 11) and Monday (May 12), besides holding a press conference and meeting her fans, she also visited her parents house at National Housing IV in the Abepura District, Papua.

Nowela Auparay was born in Wamena, Papua, on December 19, 1987. Prior to participating in the Indonesian Idol contest, she used to sing in cafes. Nowela enrolled for the audition of the contest that was held in Purwokerto, Central Java.

Nowela will compete with another finalist, Husein Alatas, next week, to win the Indonesian Idol title.
