"Since he has failed to lead Golkar, Ical (Aburizal) should resign and not wait for the congress, especially the extraordinary congress. We can choose a temporary chairman," Golkar Party member Ais Anantama Said stated.
Jakarta (ANTARA News) - Aburizal Bakrie has failed to lead the party to win the election and form a coalition with another party to face the upcoming presidential election, noted Golkar Party member Ais Anantama Said.

"Since he has failed to lead Golkar, Ical (Aburizal) should resign and not wait for the congress, especially the extraordinary congress. We can choose a temporary chairman," he reiterated here on Tuesday.

Said stated that Golkar lost in the legislative elections, as it received votes far below the target.

"This failure was already forecast because Ical ignored the advice and suggestions put forth by eminent political figures of the Golkar party," Said pointed out.

According to Said, Golkar is a big party having leaders and cadres who are considered great people and has never finished in the third position.

Therefore, Said proposed that this situation should be viewed as a learning lesson, and the process to revamp the party must be effective, so that the cadres who are struggling to raise the partys position can be given their due respect. (*)
