Jakarta (Antara News) - About 10 construction and manufacturing companies from Spain are planning to invest in Indonesia, according to Spains embassy in Jakarta here on Thursday.

Among the 10 companies that are interested in investing in Indonesia are Actividades de Construcci'�n y Servicios (ACS), Fomento de Construcciones y Contratas (FCC), (Obrasc�n Huarte Lain (OHL), Abeinsa, Tecnicas Reunidas, Isoluc Corsan and Acciona as well as several other Spanish companies, which were partners of Indonesian companies before, such as Centunion, Abengoa and Indra.

"We have conducted research and identified the potential of Indonesia in the future as one of the engines of the worlds economy. We conclude that Indonesia is our priority currently and in the future in terms of cooperation in various sectors," Director General Antonio Fernandez Martoz of the Finance Ministry in Spain said recently, during a discussion held by the Indonesian Embassy in Madrid and Spains Industry and Entrepreneur Conferederation (CEOE) recently in Spain.

Martoz said Spain had reserves of US$640 million, which were mostly invested in Latin America and European countries.

"In the future, Spain will allocate more of its reserves to invest in Asia, especially in Indonesia," Martoz added.

Meanwhile, Indonesian Ambassador to Spain Yuli Mumpuni Sudarso said Indonesia through several promotion activities aims to attract more investors from Spain. ***2***
