Any person will feel concerned over the fact that SDA has been named a suspect."
Samarinda, East Kalimantan (ANTARA News) - Secretary General of Golkar Party Idrus Marham expressed concern over United Development Party (PPP) Chairman Suryadarma Ali (SDA) being named a suspect in an alleged corruption case involving the misappropriation of Hajj pilgrimage funds.

"Any person will feel concerned over the fact that SDA has been named a suspect. Yet, I am convinced that SDA being named as a suspect will not affect the success team of Prabowo-Hatta Rajasa presidential and vice presidential candidates," Idrus Marham notified reporters here on Saturday.

Marham, who is the deputy chairman of the Prabowo-Hatta duo success team, noted that SDA being named as a suspect by the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) was a personal matter.

"SDA being named as a graft suspect is a personal matter and is not linked to his capacity as the chairman of PPP. I think the people are smart and rational in viewing this decision by the KPK as a personal matter rather than a team matter. Though we are concerned, yet we are also convinced that it will not affect the coalition of parties supporting the Prabowo-Hatta duo. We leave it entirely to the legal process," he affirmed.

Golkar Party is one of the six political parties that are lending support to the Prabowo-Hatta pair.

On Thursday, the KPK named SDA as a suspect with regard to irregularities in the management of Hajj pilgrimage funds during the 2012-2013 period.
