Let`s translate the birth of Pancasila as an open and living ideology..."Jakarta (ANTARA News) - Vice President Boediono visited Bengkulu to observe the birthday of the state Pancasila ideology in the province and to tour a number of historic places where President Soekarno was once exiled.
According to a press release from the Vice Presidential Secretariat here on Sunday, the Vice President was accompanied by his wife Mrs Herawati Boediono and was flown with a special Boeing 737-400 aircraft of the Air Force.
He will attend the commemoration of the Pancasila birthday which is to be entered at the Balai Raya Semarak Square. The theme of the Pancasila Commemoration Day is "Nurturing the Red and White from the Raflesia Earth."
The Vice President will also inspect the Bhayangkara Police Hospital and the Baai Seaport which is operated by state-owned port operator company PT Pelabuhan Indonesia II.
Earlier, President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono asked the people to construe the birth of the state ideology Pancasila in broad sense so that the nation and state will have a better life.
"Lets translate the birth of Pancasila as an open and living ideology for the state and as a guidance for the Indonesian people," the President said on his Twitter account on Sunday.
The Head of State on various occasions stressed the importance of the nations continuous character building so that the people would have strong personality and were ready to become a strong nation both in terms of economic and character aspects.
June 1 has been observed as the birthday of the Pancasila state ideology.
Indonesia observed on Sunday the 69th anniversary of the birth of Pancasila on June 1, 1945.
