Bogor, W Java (ANTARA News) - A landslide claimed six lives and three others went missing in the Neglasari hamlet of Cariu Sub-district, Bogor District, West Java, on early Tuesday, stated a rescuer.

The landslide occurred as a high cliff fell and buried five houses, Head of Bogor Districts Disaster Mitigation Agency (BPBD) Yos Sudrajat remarked here on Tuesday.

"The ill-fated houses accommodated 17 people. Six of them are found dead and three others remain missing," he noted, adding that the search and rescue efforts were ongoing to find the missing victims.

The landslide resulted from torrential rains lashing the hamlet since Monday evening to early Tuesday. Those found dead were identified as Dedeh (38), Risma (13), Wahyu (17), Mardi (37), Hajah Sopiah (60), and Riski (4), Sudrajat added. (*)
