Gaza (ANTARA News) - Israeli war jets carried out successive airstrikes early on Thursday morning on training facilities that belong to Islamic Hamas movement in northern Gaza Strip and on Gaza city, security officials said.

Several explosions wrecked northern and central Gaza Strip as well as eastern and western Gaza city after Israeli war jets hovered over the coastal enclave and carried out airstrikes, security officials in Gaza said, adding that the targets were training camps and bases that belong to Islamic Hamas movements armed wing al-Qassam Brigades.

Gaza emergency chief Ashraf al-Qedra told reporters that at least one Palestinian was moderately injured and taken to Shifa Hospital in Gaza city.

Israeli jets and helicopters have been carrying out night airstrikes on targets that belong to Hamas militants all over the Gaza Strip after rockets were fired from the coastal enclave into Israel. No one has claimed responsibility for the rockets, but Israel held Hamas responsible for the attacks.

Violence between Israel and the Palestinians has mounted over the past six days after Israel announced that three Israeli teenagers were kidnapped by Palestinian militants in the West Bank.

Israel has directly accused Hamas for being involved in the kidnapping and started to crack down on the movement in the West Bank, detaining more than 200 of its leaders, ex-prisoners and lawmakers.

Hamas leaders, who did not deny or confirm the movements involvement in the kidnapping, have warned Israel over the latter s crackdown in the West Bank.
