Jakarta (ANTARA News) - The US government has congratulated the people of Indonesia on its successful presidential elections on Wednesday, the US here said on its official website.

"We congratulate the people of Indonesia on the successful completion of their historic presidential election. The high voter turnout, spirited campaign, and strong participation by Indonesias public, civil society, and media underscore the strength and dynamism of Indonesias maturing democracy," reads a statement by the Press Secretary of the White House.
