"We are still convinced that the Prabowo-Hatta ticket will win the election, and Indonesia will soon have a new president, Prabowo Subianto," the spokesperson of the camp`s success team, Marwah Daud Ibrahim, said.
Jakarta (ANTARA News) - The Prabowo-Hatta camp still believes that its candidate pair will finally emerge as the winner of the July 9 presidential election.

"We are still convinced that the Prabowo-Hatta ticket will win the election, and Indonesia will soon have a new president, Prabowo Subianto," the spokesperson of the camps success team, Marwah Daud Ibrahim, said here on Tuesday.

She made the statement ahead of the official announcement of the result of the election by the General Elections Commission (KPU) on July 22.

Marwah Daud Ibrahim said based on 99.97 percent of votes sampled at the camps National Tabulation Center, the Prabowo-Hatta ticket had won 53.52 percent of the votes against 46.48 percent collected by their rival Jokowi-Jusuf Kalla.

"What we need to do now is safeguard the votes, so that they will not be stolen, and convince people that their trust in the Prabowo-Hatta pair has been implemented. In view of that, all elements must safeguard the mandate until the official announcement by KPU," she said.

Marwah Daud said the national tabulation of vote tallies by the success team of the Prabowo-Hatta camp had been done based on valid data collected by volunteers.

"Our data are C1 forms, and so we are not merely making a claim or speculating," she said.

Marwah who is also a central executive board member of the Indonesia Moslim Intellectual Association (ICMI) meanwhile had mentioned fraudulent cases in Jakarta, West Java, East Java, and South Kalimantan.

"Unless we are not fooled, the victory percentage for the Prabowo-Hatta pair could be higher," she said.

Musfihin Dahlan, a member of the Prabowo-Hatta camps success team, meanwhile said that data collected by volunteers were accurate and had also been confirmed by witnesses from the Prosperous Justice Party (PKS).

"So, the data collected are very accurate, and we could conclude that based on our count at the National Tabulation Center, the pair will win the election. We only await the official statement from the KPU," he said.

Musfihin, who is also the deputy secretary general of Golkar Party that along with PKS, PAN, PBB, Gerindra, PPP, PBB, and the Democrat Party has supported the Prabowo-Hatta pair, said that all sides must later accept the reality that the one who will replace President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono will be Prabowo Subianto.

"So, those who have believed in the opinion spread in the community so far that the winner is the Jokowi-Jusuf Kalla duo based on quick counts must later accept the reality that the claim was based on mere samples and proven wrong by the official count by the KPU to be made known later on July 22," he said.

To all his political opponents in the presidential election, he appealed to have a large heart and show their statesmanship if later the KPU announced that the result of the election is the same as that of the National Tabulation Center.(*)
