Marty said Indonesia and the Philippines had made the commitment to materialize the Declaration of Conduct (DoC) made by ASEAN countries and China.
Jakarta (ANTARA News) - Indonesian Foreign Affairs Minister Marty Natalegawa met with his counterpart from the Philippines Albert F Del Rosario here on Tuesday and discussed bilateral issues and recent development in South China Sea conflict.

"We had a discussion about the follow up of the bilateral agreements we made before, especially after the visit of Indonesian President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono to Manila last May 23," said Marty.

The minister said Indonesia and the Philippines will soon discuss a continental shelf between the two countries after the successful conclusion of negotiation of Exclusive Economic Zone during Yudhoyonos visit to Manila last May.

As to the South China Sea issue, Marty said Indonesia and the Philippines had made the commitment to materialize the Declaration of Conduct (DoC) made by ASEAN countries and China.

"The important factor is the implementation of the DoC. I have discussed with the Philippines foreign minister that it is also important for ASEAN countries to consolidate action before negotiating with China," said Marty.(*)
