Jakarta (ANTARA News) - The police assured here on Tuesday that they have made the necessary arrangements to secure the first session of an election dispute at the Constitutional Court (MK) scheduled here on Wednesday.

"The security mechanism is in place including for the judges and the location," stated Brigadier General Boy Rafli Amar, the head of public information division of the National Police Command.

Boy noted that the police personnel who will be assigned to secure the event had already undergone training on several earlier occasions, and so, this time they will only implement what they have been trained in.

He explained that the police will deploy around 22 thousand personnel who will be stationed in several locations, including the MK area.

Boy remarked that the police had already received information that supporters of a certain candidate planned to be present at the court to monitor the proceedings.

National police Chief General Sutarman emphasized that although the presidential election process had concluded and the Joko Widodo-Jusuf Kalla pair had been declared the winner by the General Elections Commission (KPU), special security measures will still be adopted as a lawsuit had been filed with the MK against the results of the election.

The Prabowo Subianto-Hatta Rajasa duo had filed a lawsuit against the KPU in connection with the results of the election, citing fraud in several regions.

J. Juliantono, the chief of the West Java regional chapter of the Great Indonesia Movement Party (Gerindra), which is also Prabowos party, stated here on Tuesday that tens of thousands of supporters of the coalition of political parties that support Prabowo will be present at the MK to urge the court to uphold justice while giving a ruling over the dispute.

"We will surround the complex and block the streets leading to it to give moral support to MK, so that it can settle the dispute fairly," he affirmed.

The spokesman of the Prabowo-Hatta national campaign team, Andre Rosieda, meanwhile claimed that the Prabowo-Hatta duo had filed a lawsuit with the MK as it was seeking justice and truth.

"This (lawsuit) is not filed because we would not concede defeat, but we want to find justice and truth, since according to our data that totals up to 10 truckloads, we have uncovered massive, structured, and systematic fraud," he emphasized here on Tuesday.(*)
