Jakarta (ANTARA News) - Chairman of the Constitutional Court Hamdan Zoelva pledges that the Court would handle the case of election dispute on facts and it would not bow to any pressure.

"No pressure from state agencies, political parties, mass organizations or demonstrators could have its effect on the Court," the chief justice said here on Tuesday.

The Constitutional Court would start its session on Wednesday on the case filed by the losing party in the July 9 presidential election.

The Election Commission has declared Joko Widodo and Jusuf Kalla as president and vice president elect but rival candidate Prabowo Subianto and his running mate Hatta Rajasa refused to acknowledge defeat.

Prabowo and Hatta said the election had been massively rigged accusing KPU of being unfair and filing a lawsuit against it.

Hamdan appealed to both parties not to organize mass protest when the court holds its session .

He guaranteed that all court judges will be impartial and act independently, saying decisions would be based on facts and proofs.(*)
