Kupang, E Nusa Tenggara (ANTARA News) - One participant of Sail Raja Ampat from Australia, Diater August Sattler (71), died in Timor Island waters of East Nusa Tenggara Province during the visit to Wini Port in the area.

The Secretary for Creative Economic and Tourism Service of East Nusa Tenggara, Wely Rohimone, said here on Monday that the cause of the participants death was heart attack.

"We received a report relating to the death that had occurred when the participants had visited Wini Port, Timor Tengah Utara District, last week," Wely stated.

The Police officers from Timor Tengah Utara District have taken the body to Kupang in order to conduct autopsy.

He said the committee will send the body to Australia from El Tari Airport of Kupang after the medical team complete the autopsy.

The participants of Sail Raja Ampat 2014 had arrived in East Nusa Tenggara waters last week.

They have planned to visit several islands in the province, including Komodo Island in the west tip of Flores Island.

Sail Raja Ampat 2014, which will start on Aug 17, 2014, has been organized by the Ministry of Marine and Affairs of Republic of Indonesia.

Sail Raja Ampat 2014 consists of seven agendas, including the 69th Indonesia Independence day ceremony in Waisai, Raja Ampat Culture Festival, Regional Potential Exhibition, Diplomatic Tour, VIP Tour, VVIP Tour, and the Peak Event that will be held in Torang Cinta Beach of Waisai.
