Denpasar, Bali (ANTARA News) - The Denpasar city police in the Indonesian resort island of Bali have arrested two people suspected of killing a US national, Sheila Von Weise (64).

The two suspects have been identified as Schaffer Tommy (21) and Heather Louis (19).

"We will proceed with their case according to the Indonesian law," chief of the Denpasar city police Snr. Comr. Djoko Hariutomo said here on Thursday.

Although the suspects were foreign nationals, the police will handle the case according to the Indonesia law since the murder was committed in Indonesia, he pointed out.

Djoko noted that the city police had coordinated with the US representative including the US consulate general in Denpasar.

Schaffer Tommy was arrested along with his girlfriend Heather Louis, who is also the daughter of Sheila Von Weise, at a hotel in Kuta, Bali, on Wednesday at around 07.00 a.m. local time after the police received tip-offs from hotel staff.

The suspects were arrested while they were sleeping in the hotel room. They had checked into the hotel on Tuesday evening shortly after the body of Sheila Von Weise was found inside a suitcase.

Earlier, Sheila, Tommy, and Heather had stayed at St Regis Hotel in Nusa Dua, Bali. On Tuesday afternoon, Tommy was seen going out of the hotel, carrying a large suitcase smeared with blood.

He then called a taxi and loaded the suitcase into the trunk himself.

He later returned to the hotel room and did not come out.

According to the CCTV footage, Tommy and Heather were seen leaving the hotel through the rear gate.(*)
