Jakarta (ANTARA News) - Presidential candidate Prabowo Subianto and his running mate Hatta Rajasa held the 69th Indonesias Independence Anniversary ceremony at the golf course of Nusantara Polo Club in Jagorawi Golf & Country Club, Cibinong, West Java on Sunday morning.

The Prabowo-Hatta pair along with several political leaders such as Anis Matta, Hidayat Nur Wahid and Taufik Ridho of the Prosperous Justice Party (PKS), Tantowi Yahya of Golkar Party, and Romahurmuzy, secretary general of the United Development Party (PPP) commemorated the countrys independence day near Prabowos residential area in the West Java province.

The volunteers of the Red and White team, who supported the Parabowo-Hatta duo in the July 9 election, also attended the independence day ceremony.

The independence anniversary ceremony at the Jagorawi golf course was also enlivened with the performance of marching band.

Indonesia proclaimed its independence on August 17, 1945, after being colonized by the Dutch for 3.5 centuries.

Meanwhile, another Indonesias presidential candidate Joko Widodo (Jokowi), who is concurrently governor of Indonesias capital Jakarta became inspector of ceremony of the countrys proclamation day that took place at the National Monument (Monas), Central Jakarta.

The Parabowo-Hatta pair and Joko Widodo-Jusuf Kalla duo took part in the Indonesian presidential poll on July 9, 2014.

On Tuesday (July 22), General Election Commission (KPU) Chairman Husni Kamil Manik announced that the Joko Widodo-Jusuf Kalla pair as Indonesias upcoming president and vice president following this duos victory in the July 9 presidential election.

The Joko Widodo-Jusuf Kalla (Jokowi-JK)presidetial and vice presidential hopefuls grabbed 53.15 percent or 70,997,833 votes, according to the electoral body.

In the meantime, the Prabowo Subianto-Hatta Rajasa presidential pair here on the same day (Tuesday) voiced its rejection to the election process and results of the recapitulation of vote tallies by the General Elections Commission (KPU) citing massive fraud.

Prabowo then filed complaints with the Constitutional Court (MK) last month, alleging structural, systematical, and massive frauds during the election process.

The MK has started holding the election dispute hearings to date. (*)
