Surabaya, E Java (ANTARA News) - General chairman of the National Awakening Party (PKB) Muhaimin Iskandar said he has agreed with Joko Widodo (Jokowi) and his team of transition to decide the "fate" of the parties supporting the president elect and vice president elect Jusuf Kalla (JK) in mid September.

"We are still with Jokowi-JK but everything would be clearer in mid September," he said after a meeting with around 60 young Islamic scholars (kiai) from East Java here on Saturday afternoon.

Muhaimin did not go into details what he meant by "fate" of the political parties, but Jokowi has said that his cabinet ministers would be made of professionals and candidates from political parties have to give up their position in political party.

He said he has no information about the names of candidates to fill the cabinet of Jokowi-JK, adding, "everything would be decided in mid September."

"Including whether I am still PKB chairman or become a minister. Certainly I will consult with Jokowi and the PKB leaders," he said after receiving support from the 60 young kiais to maintain his position as PKB top leader.

The party is to hold a national congress in Surabaya on Aug 31-Sept 1 to name a new leader of the Islamic party.
