Surabaya, E Java (ANTARA News) - Indonesias top-seeded shuttlers advanced to the second round in the "Jaya Raya Junior International Challenge 2014" tournament after outplaying their opponents on Tuesday.

In the opening events at the Sudirman Sports Stadium here, three top-seeded host shuttlers moved to the second round. They are seventh-seeded Ramadhani Muhammad Zulkifli, ninth-seeded Androw Yunanto and 12th-seeded Farid Pramadita Gunawan.

In mens singles, Ramadhani beat Kittithat Cheiklinthes of Thailand 21-13, 21-18, while Androw Yunanto outscored his compatriot, Tri Cahya Suprianto, 21-15, 21-16, and Farid Pramadita crushed Khitiwat Thephasadin of Thailand 21-16, 21-15.

"I have never played with him. But from the beginning I was optimistic about winning the match," Ramadhani said after the match.

Meanwhile, first-seeded Zin Rei Ryan Ng of Singapore had no difficulties defeating host shuttler Reza Romadhon to win the match 21-12, 21-12 in 30 minutes.

Also, fourth-seeded Kantawat Leelavechabutr of Thailand outscored host shuttler Eduardo Eduardo 21-14, 21-12.

In womens singles, Lyanny Alessandra Mainaky of Indonesia played hard to beat Ye Jin Choi of South Korea 21-16, 24-22.

The six-day tournament, which opened on Tuesday, brings together 300 shuttlers from six countries, including Thailand, Singapore, Malaysia, Hong Kong, South Korea, and host Indonesia.
