Pekanbaru (ANTARA News) - All documents that the Corruption Eradication Commissions (KPK) investigators confiscated from different places, including the house and office of Riau Governor Annas Maamun, would be brought to Jakarta, the antigraft bodys spokesperson said.

"The seized documents will help the investigators conduct their further probe," Johan Budi told ANTARA News through a phone interview here Monday.

Johan Budi said the KPK investigators have been in the capital of Riau Province from Saturday, and remain there on Monday.

Meanwhile, at least eight KPK investigators raided the office of Riau Governor Annas Maamun on Monday to collect important documents in connection with his alleged involvement in a corruption case.

The antigraft bodys investigators arrived at Maamuns office at 09.15 am under the protection of three armed Mobile Brigade personnel, and left the venue at 11.40 am.

During the investigation, they thoroughly checked the working rooms of the governor and his regional secretary, Zaini Ismail. They left the governors office with two luggage and two bags that might contain the seized documents.

Leaving the office by two minivans, the investigators did not say anything to journalists that had waited for them since morning.

On Sunday, the KPK investigators had seized numerous important documents from Annas Maamuns house.

Annas Maamun was recently caught red handed by the KPK in Jakarta along with a number of people including a Riau businessman named Gulat Manurung.

The KPK investigators then named him as a suspect for allegedly receiving a bribe in connection with the issuance of license to convert forests into plantation in Riau with a maximum jail term of five years.

They also named Gulat Manurung, a palm oil businessman, a suspect for allegedly bribing the governor.

During the recent arrest, the KPK investigators confiscated money worth more than Rp2 billion including 156 Singaporean dollars and Rp500 million from the suspects. ***1***
