Jakarta (ANTARA News) - US Secretary of State John Kerry joined the worlds influential figures to attend the inauguration of President Joko Widodo and Vice President Jusuf Kalla at the Peoples Consultative Assembly (MPR) here Monday.

Kerry arrived at the venue where the MPRs plenary session took place but said nothing to journalists who waited for his coming. The inauguration was also attended by eight heads of state and 10 ministries from various countries.

Among them are Malaysian Prime Minister Najib Tun Razak, Sultan of Brunei Hassanal Bolkiah, Australian Prime Minister Tony Abbott, and PNG Governor General Michael Ogjio.

In his message on President Joko Widodos inauguration, Prime Minister Tony Abbott has stated that Australia wants Joko Widodo to succeed because a strong, prospering, democratic Indonesia has so much to offer the world.

"President Jokowi now takes office with enormous goodwill - in his own country and in ours," Abbott, who is attending the presidential inauguration, said.(*)
