Jakarta (ANTARA News) - Newly inaugurated Indonesian President Joko Widodo, better known as Jokowi, received US Secretary of State John Kerry at Merdeka Palace on Monday night to talk on climate change.

"We talked on climate change and a planned meeting with President Barack Obama at APEC meeting," President Jokowi said after ushering Kerry to his car.

Jokowi added that he also hinted at investment and infrastructure, but he did not go into the detail because he has just being inaugurated as president.

After being interviewed by the media, the new president took a few minutes of his time to step out of the Merdeka Palace and greeted a crowd of onlookers gathered outside the fence of the palace.

The US secretary of state was the fourth foreign dignitary to meet Jokowi after his inauguration.

Earlier, Jokowi received Malaysian Prime Minister Najib Tun Abdul Razak, Singapore Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong and Australian Prime Minister Tony Abbott.

Jokowi and Jusuf Kalla were sworn in respectively as the president and vice president of Indonesia on Monday during the plenary meeting of the People's Consultative Assembly (MPR).
