"Jakarta (ANTARA News) - The Indonesian Army's Special Forces Command (Kopassus TNI AD) should become the best elite force in the world, stated Chief of Staff of the Indonesian Army, General Gatot Nurmantyo.
"Kopassus TNI AD must improve its professionalism. Therefore, training for the soldiers should be constantly intensified to make Kopassus TNI AD the best force in the world," Nurmantyo noted here on Friday, during a handover of charge of Kopassus TNI AD Commander from Major General Agus Sutomo to Major General Doni Monardo.
The changeover in Kopassus' top leadership was part of the regeneration process within the elite force.
"The new Kopassus commander must continue making productive endeavors by maintaining and strengthening the soldiers professionalism," he added.
Monardo was previously the commander of the presidential security forces known as Paspampres TNI.
