Jakarta (ANTARA News) - The leadership of the House of Representatives (DPR) formally handed over the recommendations requested by President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) with regard to his plan to change nomenclatures of some ministries on Sunday.

The DPR leadership delegation that came to President Joko Widodo included speaker Setya Novanto, deputy speakers Fadli Zon, Taufik Kurniawan and Agus Hermanto met with President. Deputy speaker Fachri Hamzah was not found in the delegation.

The recommendations had been waited for so far in connection with cabinet announcement.

At the meeting with the DPR leadership President Jokowi was flanked by vice president Jusuf Kalla.

At a press conference afterwards the President expressed appreciation to the DPR that had submitted the recommendations after he extended the names of the ministries on October 21.

"We appreciated their quick response and reply which we would need before we could announce the cabinet. Recommendations cover ministries that would be merged and ministries that would be split," he said.

House speaker Setya Novanto meanwhile also expressed appreciation to President Jokowi who would wait for the DPR recommendations.

He hoped President Jokowi would consider budget, social and political aspects in connection with his plan.

"With regard to the changes we have asked for consideration over money follow function and action follow principles. We have asked for consideration over its implications on budget, social and political implications," he said.
