Jakarta (ANTARA News) - Indonesia and Singapore held a Combined Annual Report Meeting (CARM), the Indonesia-Singapore High Level Committee (INDOSIN HLC), in Singapore on Tuesday.

The 17th meeting was opened by the commander of the Indonesian Defense Forces (TNI), General Moeldoko, and his Singaporean counterpart, Lieutenant General Ng Chee Meng, on Tuesday, the head of the public information service of the TNI, Colonel Bernardus Robert, said in a statement received here on Wednesday.

He added that the aim of the meeting was to facilitate the implementation of military cooperation between the two countries.

The meeting also aimed to strengthen the existing relations and the mutually-beneficial cooperative interactions to ensure agreement-based budget allocations.

As immediate neighboring countries, the colonel noted that Indonesia and Singapore need to work in sync under mutually-beneficial frameworks in various interactive activities.

"Such comprehensive cooperation can bring about positive impacts on increasing the capacity of the armed forces of the two nations, their border regional security forces, and the ASEAN region and those around it," he remarked.(*)
