State postal service PT Pos Indonesia has been assigned the task of distributing the funds to the 15.5 million poor families across the country.
Jakarta (ANTARA News) - President Joko Widodo launched the Family Welfare Savings Program (PSKS) though which funds amounting to Rp6.2 trillion will be distributed to the poor across the country.

"The PSKS is a savings fund aid program of the government aimed to empower and protect the poor to help build productive families," the President Director of PT Pos Indonesia, Budi Setiawan, said after accompanying the president at the launch of the program at the PT Pos Indonesia building here on Monday.

State postal service PT Pos Indonesia has been assigned the task of distributing the funds to the 15.5 million poor families across the country.

Setiawan explained that the funds will be distributed in the form of Giropos savings to 14.5 million target families (RTS) through post offices and in the form of "Mandiri e-Cash" to 1 million RTS through the state-owned Mandiri Bank. The latter can only be disbursed at post offices that provide payment services.

Also, the president director added that besides receiving the PSKS funds, the one million RTS will also receive Family Welfare Cards (KKS), Sim Cards for Mandiri e-Cash, Indonesia Smart Cards (KIP), and Indonesia Health Cards (KIS).

With the KIP and KIS, the families may also get access to free education and health services.

Besides distributing KKS and e-Cash funds, PT Pos Indonesia has also been trusted to distribute the KIP and KIS funds managed by the ministry of education and the ministry of health, respectively. They are also expected to print the cards for the programs.

Setiawan further noted that the distribution of funds for the PSKS will be based on RTS data from the ministry of social affairs.

The PSKS task force will verify and validate the list of recipients produced by the government, which will then be administratively used as proof of the opening of a collective account, a signature specimen, a funds withdrawal slip and of funds distribution to the target family, he affirmed.

The PSKS funds can be withdrawn from November 3 to December 21. "All funds will have to be distributed before December 31 because a new budget will be used in 2015," he explained.

Moreover, Setiawan stated that to withdraw Giropos savings, RTS must produce their Social Protection Card (KPS) and an identity proof to match them with the data available at the post office.

"We cooperate with some 10,000 community members in several regions to ease the process by which people receive the payments. Workers of PT Pos Indonesia will visit community locations to make the PSKS payments to the community members," Setiawan assured.

Furthermore, the disbursement of Mandiri e-Cash will be started on November 3in 18 cities.(*)
