The cooperation agreement covers both industrial and commercial deals and specifies a certified maintenance center.
Jakarta (ANTARA News) - Indonesian aircraft manufacturer PT Dirgantara Indonesia (PTDI) signed a cooperation agreement with Bell Helicopter Textron (BHTI), an American helicopter maker, in Jakarta.

"PTDIs cooperation with BHTI is an anticipatory and a strategic step to meet the demand from customers and the domestic market," PTDI President Director Budi Santoso said here on Wednesday.

The cooperation agreement covers both industrial and commercial deals and specifies a certified maintenance center, as well.

The agreement was made based on the memorandum of understanding (MoU) signed on August 2 and December 6 last year.

Santoso further noted that PTDI and BHTI had agreed to carry out joint marketing and sales based on the MoU.

"BHTI will support PTDI as a BELL Tier-1 supplier and will provide a service center and BELL 412 customization as well," he affirmed.

PTDI and BHTI have been building cooperation since 1982. The Indonesian aircraft maker has supplied more than 60 units of Bell 412s to the Indonesian government and private parties ever since.

"We believe that demand for Bell 412s will increase in line with the economic growth and to achieve the targets of the Minimum Essential Force," he remarked.(*)
