Jusuf KJalla said that those employers who do not pay taxes and travel abroad, are in fact, using the money of the public.
Jakarta (ANTARA News) - Delinquent taxpayers might be banned as is applicable to those allegedly involved in corruption, Vice President Jusuf Kalla stated.

"We ban the corrupt and also delinquent taxpayers," Kalla stated here on Monday.

Jusuf pointed out that those employers who do not pay taxes and travel abroad, are in fact, using the money of the public.

Therefore, the vice president also emphasized that entrepreneurs in various sectors must pay taxes in accordance with the rules set by the government.

In the meantime, the Indonesian Chamber of Commerce and Industry Chairman Suryo Bambang Sulisto praised the government, which has set a target to increase the "tax ratio" from 12 to 16 percent.

While sharing his viewpoint, Suryo Bambang Sulisto explained that the objective behind increasing the tax ratio was to intensify collection rather than to increase the number of taxpayers.

Earlier, Deputy Minister of Finance Mardiasmo had invited the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) to participate in supervising any leak in state income related to the tax sector.

"There are still problems in the tax sector, and we would like to cooperate with the KPK in supervising the tax revenues. For the short term, we want to form a joint team of the director general of finance and taxation," Mardiasmo affirmed.

Mardiasmo claimed that the target revenue from the tax sector in 2015 is expected to reach Rp600 trillion.(*)
