Jakarta (ANTARA News) - The construction of new infrastructure projects will commence in March 2015 at the latest, stated President Joko Widodo, or popularly known as Jokowi.

To realize the goal, Jokowi revealed that he will soon announce a Presidential Instruction to accelerate swifter absorption of the governments budget by governmental bodies.

"We must start all projects soon after I submit the Budget Execution List (DIPA). All government tenders need to be realized soon too," Jokowi stated after submitting the DIPA for the 2015 budget to the representatives of ministries and other government bodies here on Monday at the Presidential Palace.

Jokowi emphasized that the government must submit the DIPA early every year in order to avoid situations wherein the schedules of several government activities overlapped and had to be conducted at the year-end.

For the year 2015, the total funds allocated for the DIPA are Rp647.3 trillion to be used for 22,787 projects. About 18,648 projects will be implemented by the central government while the other 4,139 projects will be handled by the local government.(*)
