Surabaya, East Java (ANTARA News) - Social Affairs Minister Khofifah Indar Parawansa said convicts in Indonesia will get health insurance card Kartu Indonesia Sehat from 2015.

"We have prepared cards for 320 thousand convicts in Indonesia," the minister said during a socialization initiative of the Kartu Indonesia program at the Indonesian Democratic Party of Struggles office in Surabaya here on Wednesday.

According to the minister, the distribution of the health insurance cards will be conducted gradually.

The government aims to distribute Kartu Indonesia Sehat to a total of 96.4 million people, 320 thousand convicts, and 1.7 million people facing issues related to social welfare.

Meanwhile, Indonesia Smart Card, the card for free education program, is expected to benefit 19 million students in Indonesia.

"The government has set aside Rp19.6 trillion to finance the Indonesia Smart Card and Indonesia Healthy Card programs," said Khofifah.
