Cibinong, W Java (ANTARA News) - A district court of Cibinong, West Java, sentenced to life imprisonment two Malaysians for drug trafficking.

"The right punishment for them is life imprisonment," presiding judge Lilik Sugihartono said reading the verdict here on Wednesday.

Lilik did not agree with the death sentence demanded by the public prosecutor, saying "only God has the right to take away a life."

Public prosecutor Rizal Jamaluddin said the chief prosecutor would decided whether or not to appeal the verdict.

Last Sunday, the country executed six drug convicts including four foreigners.

President Joko Widodo has said he would reject appeal for clemency from a number of drug convicts sentenced to death.(*)
