Jakarta (ANTARA News) - The Coalition of Civil Societies has urged the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) to take legal action against the South Jakarta courts ruling on the case involving Commissioner General Budi Gunawan.

"We urge the KPK to take immediate legal action to have Judge Sarpin Rizaldi revoke his ruling, which is wrong. While the efforts are made, the KPK must continue the legal processes related to Gunawans case," a representative of the coalition, Haris Azwar, said here on Monday.

The anti-graft body named national police chief candidate Budi Gunawan a suspect over a case of corruption, after which he filed for a pretrial. It was finally announced on Monday that the KPKs decision was illegitimate.

Community members were seen gathering at the KPK headquarters to extend support, following the courts ruling that revoked the KPKs decision of naming Gunawan as a corruption suspect.(*)
