"We are ready to face the pretrials filed by the suspects against the KPK because it is their rights to do so," Acting Commissioner of the KPK Taufiqurrahman Ruki said.
Jakarta (ANTARA News) - Acting Commissioner of the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) Taufiqurrahman Ruki said here Wednesday that he is ready to face the pretrials filed by several corruption suspects against the anti-graft body.

"We are ready to face the pretrials filed by the suspects against the KPK because it is their rights to do so. Court will also not reject the pretrial hearings," he said prior to his meeting with President Joko Widodo at the State Palace here.

Following the recent victory of Commissioner General Budi Gunawan in the pretrial hearing that he filed against the KPK at the South Jakarta District Court, some corruption suspects have planned to take Budi Gunawans legal step.

One of the figures who has taken the same legal step as Budi Gunawan, whose suspect status has been invalidated by the court, is former religious affairs minister Suryadharma Ali.

Suryadharma Ali has been named a suspect by the antigraft body for the alleged misuse of Haj funds for the 2012-2013 period but he repeatedly skipped the KPKs summons.(*)
