Hainan (ANTARA News) - President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) and his entourage arrived in Hainan Province, China, Friday, to attend the Boao Forum for Asia (BFA).

Upon his arrival in the island province, President Jokowi was greeted by Hainan Governor Luo Baoming.

Jokowi is scheduled to participate in BFA to be organized in Boao City, Hainan Island, Saturday.

Chinese President Xi Jinping will address the opening ceremony of the forum that focuses on integration process of Asia, as well as the construction of the Asian Community of Common Destiny.

The annual conference, themed "Asias New Future: Toward a Community of Common Destiny", includes more than 70 formal discussions on topics concerning macro economy, industry transformation and regional development in addition to technological innovation, politics and security, and peoples livelihood.

A non-governmental and non-profit international organization founded in 2001, the BFA works to promote regional economic integration and bring Asian countries closer to their development goals.

The Chinese government has invited more than 10 heads of government/state to attend the forum. They include President Jokowi, the Austrian prime minister, the Malaysian prime minister, the Dutch prime minister in addition to the crown prince of the United Arab Emirates and the Singaporean prime minister.(*)
