It means his chairmanship remains legitimate and only the implementation is postponed."
Makassar (ANTARA News) - Vice-President M. Jusuf Kalla has said Agung Laksono remains the legitimate general chairman of the Golkar Party despite the recent ruling of the Administrative Court.

"It (the courts ruling) only postpones the implementation of the decision (regarding Agung Laksonos chairmanship). It means his chairmanship remains legitimate and only the implementation is postponed," he said during a working visit here on Monday.

He made the statement in connection with the issuance of an interim measure by the administrative court that has ordered the postponement of the decision of the minister of justice and human rights to recognize the Golkar Party under Agung Laksonos chairmanship.

Kalla, who is also the former chief of the countrys oldest political party, noted the ruling will not nullify the ministers decision but will only postpone its implementation, including plans to replace party cadres from their current positions.

The court gave the ruling following a request from Agung Laksonos rival leader Aburizal Bakrie.

After the Golkar Partys defeat in last years general elections, it divided into two camps: one under by Agung Laksono and the other under Aburizal Bakrie.
