As part of the pilot program, when LinkedIn members in non-English speaking countries update their profiles and indicate English as a secondary language, they'll be asked if they'd like to certify their English skills by taking the EF Standard English Test (EFSET). If members choose to do so, they'll then be taken to the EF site to take the free exam. Once they pass, members will see the LinkedIn Add to Profile button, a one-click option to add that new certification directly to their LinkedIn profiles.

EF launched the EFSET last fall to challenge long-accepted assumptions that the highest quality English certification exams must be expensive and inconvenient. EFSET is an independent test developed by the world's top experts in language assessment, large-scale testing, and psychometrics.

Available anytime, anywhere online, the EFSET provides learners a standard measurement of their current English proficiency level, pegged to the leading international standard, the Common European Framework of Reference (CEFR) for Languages. The EFSET is the first standardized English test that measures across all CEFR levels and the only English test to use a Computer Adaptive Multi-Stage Testing engine, which adjusts difficulty levels in real time based on the individual test taker's answers.

"We think the EFSET will be a really compelling tool for the millions of LinkedIn users outside of the U.S. who want to demonstrate their English proficiency without the cost or inconvenience of traditional methods," said Yerrie Kim, Executive Director at EF.

Through the integration, LinkedIn's Add to Profile functionality, which enables students to add certifications to their profiles in one click, will be implemented across the EF courses, increasing their visibility to their networks. The EFSET is currently available to LinkedIn members around the world.
