Jakarta (ANTARA News) - President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) received executives of Total Group who visited his office here on Friday to discuss continuing the companys investment in Indonesia.

The companys executives, including CEO Patrick Pouyanne, President of Total Exploration and Production Arnauld Breuillac, Senior Vice President Asia-Pacific of Total E&P Olivier de Langavant, and President and General Manager of Total E&P Indonesia Hardy Pramono, came in the company of Indonesian Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources Sudirman Said.

Patrick Pouyanne said that the company he led had been operating in Indonesia for 50 years, including in the Mahakam Block.

"I conveyed to the president that Total would continue to invest in the country along with Indonesias national companies," he stated.

He added that as Total would invest up to US$2 billion, it needed cooperation certainty with Indonesia.

"It is now time to find the best solution. It is important for us to have cooperation certainty with regard to the Mahakam Block. Total remains committed to investing in Indonesia and is ready to cooperate with Pertamina (state-owned oil and gas company)," he affirmed.

Moreover, Minister Said noted that Total had raised two issues during the meeting---its commitment to continue investing in Indonesia and the Mahakam Block issue.

"They wish to continue to operate it and are ready to cooperate with Pertamina. The issue of shared distribution will be discussed further," he pointed out.
