... I think all international events can be held here."
Jakarta (ANTARA News) - The Sentul Circuit will have the opportunity to be chosen as the venue of international championships if the management successfully hosts MotoGP 2017, Director of Sentul International Circuit Tinton Soeprapto said here on Thursday.

"If MotoGP 2017 can be successfully organized, I think all international events can be held here," he added.

To make the Sentul Circuit located in Bogor, West Java province, an international venue for tournaments, Indonesia should put in all efforts to ensure that MotoGP 2017 is held successfully in Indonesia.

"If Indonesia is graded A for MotoGP 2017, we can organize other international events here," Soeprapto stated, adding that the Sentul Circuit needed to be maintained to meet international standards.

According to the director, the Sentul Circuit is a valuable asset of Indonesia to host MotoGP, although a few improvements need to be made to some existing facilities and supporting infrastructure.

"Within a month, we will have a small team and will carry out a program to modify the circuit in accordance with international standards," Soeprapto affirmed.

MotoGP was established as a world championship by the Federation Internationale de Motocyclisme in 1949.

It is the oldest motorsports championship in the world and the premier-class of three racing classes that take to the track on a typical Grand Prix weekend.
