... We do believe that the whole teachers that we have are very dedicated. They do their best to make children of the nation be a better generation...
Kudus, Central Java (ANTARA News) - The Kudus District Government in Central Java Province has disbursed its welfare funds to 13,850 local teachers in an effort to encourage them to improve their teaching quality.

"The disbursement of the cash aid is carried out in two phases. The first phase of the payment is given today while the second phase will take place in December," Head of Kudus District Musthofa said here Tuesday.

The cash aid is given to the teaching staff of Quranic learning centers and informal Islamic schools as well as to non-permanent teachers of the early childhood education centers (PAUD), kindergartens, and primary and secondary schools, including privately-run vocational ones.

Speaking to journalists on the sideline of the disbursement ceremony, Musthofa said the values of education should highly be appreciated but the district government's cash aid program must not be used for just "having a legality instead of being unemployed".

"We do believe that the whole teachers that we have are very dedicated. They do their best to make children of the nation be a better generation," he said.

Without their dedication and sincere sacrifice, the teachers' noble creed would not exist, Musthofa said.

Meanwhile, Secretary of Kudus District Government for Economy and Development Budi Rahmat revealed that the total amount of the welfare funds disbursed to teachers of such learning institutions as PAUD, kindergartens, primary and secondary schools reached Rp7.92 billion.

Each of them will get Rp1.35 million that will be paid in two phases. In the first phase, every teacher receives Rp650,000 while the remaining Rp700,000 is paid in December 2015.

The cash aid that the district government's social welfare division has allocated to teachers of Quranic learning centers and informal Islamic schools as well as social workers this year reaches Rp7.05 billion.

Each of the recipients will get Rp750,000, he said.
