Jakarta (ANTARA News) - Chief of the Indonesian Police General Badrodin Haiti has awarded Bintang Bhayangkara Nararya medals of merit to two officers of the Malaysia Royal Police for their services in enhancing cooperation between the two countries in fighting terrorism.

The two Malaysian police officers are Datuk Seri Akhil bin Bulat and Dato Abdul Hamid Bin Bador who are respectively the director and deputy director of special branch of the Malaysia Royal Police.

General Haiti conferred the awards on the two Malaysian police officers at the Indonesian Police Headquarters here on Friday.

"Actually, our cooperation with them has lasted since the Bali bombing case. So we bestowed them with the awards before they are retired," he said.

He said both Malaysian police officers have successfully enhanced cooperation between Indonesia and Malaysia particularly in eradicating and preventing terrorism.(*)
