Batu, E Java (ANTARA News) - The 13th Indonesian Child Congress, meeting in the East Java provincial city of Kota Batu, passed 11 decisions that will be delivered to President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) and governments at all levels.

"Decisions of the Indonesian children's voices were the results of discussions conducted by five commissions that were formed during the congress.

And the decisions constitute the translation of the recommendations taken from each provincial delegation in Indonesia," chairman of the National Commission Child Protection Arist Merdeka Sirait stated on the sidelines of the congress here on Friday.

According to Sirait, the resolutions passed by the Indonesian Child Congress are to be sent on to the president and government at all levels. They will also be brought to the International Child Congress by the Minister of Women Empowerment and Child Protection.

The 11 decisions include assuring that Indonesia becomes a child-friendly area by asking all parties throughout society to unite and jointly break the chain of violence against children and to oppose all forms of violence and exploitation, including discrimination.

Meanwhile, Social Affairs Minister Khofifah Indar Parawansa pledged to deliver the decisions of the Indonesian Child Congress to the appropriate ministers, such as the Minister for Women Empowerment and Child Protection and Minister of Education and Culture.

Parawansa further said, with regard to the Indonesian Child Voices, that children should be free to convey their expressions, have freedom according to their rights, as well as be free from violence, free to receive protection, and free to express their thoughts.
