President Jokowi pointed out that Indonesia must be built by inculcating values and adhering to norms in the community, particularly to develop human resources.
Jakarta (ANTARA News) - The development of human resources in a bid to achieve national progress is not only related to physical but also mental development, stated President Joko "Jokowi" Widodo.

"Now is the right momentum to make our grand efforts to build Indonesia, considering that the waters constitute two-thirds of the country, which has a population of 250 million," the president remarked during a special interview with ANTARA News Agency, state television station TVRI, and state broadcast station RRI ahead of the 70th anniversary of Indonesias independence on Wednesday.

He pointed out that Indonesia must be built by inculcating values and adhering to norms in the community, particularly to develop human resources.

"This state must be managed by building values (in the community) particularly culture in the political and economic fields," he remarked.

"Therefore, we always urge the nation to work (hard). Without hard work, we will find it very difficult. Competition is no longer among cities and regions but is among countries. That is why we must improve the quality of our human resources," he emphasized.

He affirmed that among the governments policies, the educational policy must be given serious attention.

"Education must be number one. The educational pattern must be directed to help us exploit our potentials," he remarked.

Of equal importance is the role of families, which also contribute to the development of human resources, he added.(*)
