All those on board the ill-fated plane were police personnel.
Batam, Riau Islands (ANTARA News) - A polices plane with the inscription M-28 Sky Truck and registration number B-4201, lost contact and crashed in the waters of Linga District in Riau Islands Province, a spokesman stated.

"The plane had lost contact. As per the last information, the plane had crashed in the territorial waters of Linga District," head of public relations division of the Riau Islands provincial Police office, Adjunct Senior Commissioner Erlangga, said here on Saturday.

According to him, the blue and white plane was on its way from the Bangka Belitung provincial city of Pangkal Pinang to Batam in Riau Islands.

All those on board the ill-fated plane were police personnel, Erlanga pointed out.

In the meantime, head of the public relations division of the National Police headquarters in Jakarta, Senior Commissioner Martinus Sitompul, gave a list of those on board through a short text message, received on Saturday. The list is as follows:

1. Adjunct Commissioner Budi Waluyo (pilot)
2. Adjunct Commissioner Eka Barokah (pilot)
3. Adjunct Commissioner Tonce (pilot)
4. Brigadier Joko Sujarwo (mechanic)
5. Brigadier Mustofa (mechanic)
6. Adjunct Commissioner Abdul Munir (passenger)
7. Adjunct Commissioner Safran (passenger)
8. Chief Brigadier Erwin (passenger)
9. First Brigadier Rizal (passenger)
10. Second Brigadier Eri (passenger)
11. Brigadier Suwarno (passenger)
12. Second Brigadier Andi Z.(passenger)
13. Brigadier Joko Sungatno (passenger)

Rescuers have been dispatched to the location where the plane crashed.(*)
