Jakarta (ANTARA News) - Indonesian shares were higher in early trade Thursday, with the main index reversing an early loss, led by gains in mining stocks. At 10:15 am, the composite index was up 11.066 points or 0.5 percent at 2,305.657, off a low of 2,290.878. "Mining stocks were higher on the back of stronger metal prices," Mega Capital Indonesia analyst Ratna Lim told Thomson Financial. She said investors are also anticipating good first half results from commodities companies. Tin miner Timah gained 400 rupiah or 3.1 percent to 13,200. Tin was at 14,660 US dollars a ton on the London Metal Exchange (LME) yesterday, touching a 3 month high of 14,850 dollars in the session. Nickel miner Inco rose 650 or 1.1 percent to 54,200 while Antam added 25 or 1.0 percent to 2,600. Nickel prices rose on the LME yesterday reaching 32,350 dollars a ton. Coal miner Bumi Resources gained 75 or 3.0 percent to 2,600 while rival Bukit Asam rose 100 or 1.5 percent to 6,650. (*)
